"Champions are built from the inside out"
Hockey Wellness Initiative (HWI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the total well-being of youth hockey players. In partnership with OpeningMinds—the organization behind the substance abuse and behavioral health program for the National Hockey League—HWI has developed a customized wellness model specifically designed for the unique demands of youth hockey.
Through this collaboration, HWI delivers a comprehensive approach that integrates mental health, fitness, nutrition, and recovery education. We also ensure that players, parents, and coaches are fully informed and connected to the resources and programs available through USA Hockey and Hockey Canada, empowering families with the tools they need to support their athletes both on and off the ice.
Customized Wellness for Hockey Players
Our approach ensures that each player has a voice in shaping how we support their development, creating an environment built on trust, growth, and personal accountability.
